Overview
Quartz builds independent Mac utilities including Tuck, Facet, PeekMark, and SpaceLint. We design our products to collect as little personal information as possible. We do not sell personal data, we do not run third-party advertising trackers, and our Mac apps are built to work without telemetry.
Information we collect
We may receive limited information in these situations:
- Email: if you contact us or join a waitlist, we receive your email address and the message you send.
- Purchases: payments are processed by our merchant of record or payment provider. We may receive purchase status, license, product, and support-related details needed to deliver the product.
- License activation: paid apps may send a license key, activation instance identifier, and an app-scoped one-way device identifier to our licensing service. These requests do not include document contents, file names, or the raw hardware identifier.
- Website hosting: our hosting provider may process standard server logs such as IP address, request path, browser type, and timestamp for security and reliability.
Information our apps do not collect
Unless a product page clearly says otherwise, Quartz Mac apps do not transmit analytics, browsing history, file contents, screen contents, menu bar contents, installed app lists, or personally identifying telemetry to Quartz. Product features are intended to run locally on your Mac. SpaceLint inspects selected storage metadata and installed-app information locally to provide its scan, explanation, and cleanup features; that inspection data is not uploaded to Quartz.
Website analytics and cookies
Our websites at quartz.ink, facet.quartz.ink, peekmark.quartz.ink, and spacelint.quartz.ink use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate website traffic, such as page views, referral sources, broad device or region information, and interactions with website pages. This website analytics does not collect the contents of your files, your installed apps, app activity, or license information.
Analytics cookies are disabled by default. Google Analytics receives analytics storage only after you choose Accept all, or enable Analytics cookies under Manage cookies and save your preferences. If you choose necessary cookies only, analytics storage remains disabled. Your preference is saved locally in your browser. Google processes analytics data under its Privacy Policy.
How we use information
We use the limited information we receive to answer support requests, send product updates you asked for, provide licenses or downloads, enforce activation limits, prevent abuse, and operate the website and products reliably.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers needed to operate Quartz, such as hosting, email, payment, licensing, and support services, or when required by law.
Data retention
We keep emails and purchase records only as long as needed for support, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. You can request deletion of optional communications at any time.
Your choices
You can choose necessary cookies only or enable analytics cookies when the cookie notice appears. You can clear this saved preference in your browser storage to choose again. You can also unsubscribe from optional emails by contacting us, or ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we control, subject to legal and accounting requirements.
